The Grammy-nominated folk-rock band The Avett Brothers will be in concert at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Mississippi on Sept. 11, with tickets going on sale soon.
Known for their powerful live shows and heartfelt songwriting, The Avett Brothers will bring their signature sound to one of Mississippi’s premier performance venues. The Avett Brothers meld bluegrass, country, punk, pop, folk, rock ’n’ roll, indie rock, honky tonk and ragtime to deliver a novel sound.
Tickets for the Friends of the Ford Center will go on sale in late July and for the public in August, with pricing and purchasing details to be announced soon. However, enthusiastic fans can secure their seats early and enjoy an elevated experience by becoming concert sponsors, with proceeds benefiting the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts.
“Sponsorship packages are ideal for individuals, families or businesses seeking a one-of-a-kind evening with one of America’s most celebrated bands,” said Brett Barefoot, executive director for central development at Ole Miss.
The title sponsorship comes with prominent advertising opportunities, including a large banner hanging on the University Avenue side of the Ford Center from July through December, a site that is highly visible to the Grove and football traffic.
Other benefits of the title sponsorship include recognition in lobbies and season programs, plus two VIP boxes, access to sponsors-only open bars during the concert and entry to the exclusive pre-show reception for sponsors and guests in their boxes.
A box sponsorship features tickets, recognition from the stage, digital advertising on social media channels, name listing in the lobby and the program, invitation to a pre-show party and more.
A pit sponsorship includes tickets, name listing in the lobby and the program, an invitation to a pre-show party and more.
The Avett Brothers band has released 11 studio albums, the most recent being a self-titled release in May 2024. “I and Love and You” was the band’s best-selling album with 500,000 sales.
“The Ford Center is thrilled to welcome The Avett Brothers this fall,” said Julia Aubrey, director of the Ford Center. “Their music brings people together across generations, and this performance promises to be one of the highlights of our season.”
“Fans are encouraged to act quickly once sales open, as demand is expected to be high,” Barefoot said. “This concert will take place on the Thursday before Ole Miss’ SEC football home opener against the University of Arkansas — certain to be a busy, exciting weekend on campus.”
