Flynt’s Gift Adds to Patterson School of Accountancy’s New Building Campaign
Molli Flynt stands at the corner of Grove Loop and University Avenue -- the future site of the Patterson School of Accountancy.

Molli Flynt is among the most recent of many University of Mississippi alumni offering their support for the Patterson School of Accountancy’s new home on the Oxford campus.

The Oxford, Mississippi, resident’s $25,000 gift is being matched by KPMG, the firm where Flynt has worked for the past two decades.  Her gift will help fund construction of the planned four-story facility, estimated to cost over $100 million, that will feature tiered auditoriums and classrooms, study areas, conference rooms, administrative and faculty office suites, and outdoor balconies and terraces.

“Molli is enjoying an outstanding career with KPMG.  She is a wonderful role model for our students – and is one of the Patterson School’s greatest ambassadors,” said Mark Wilder, dean of the Patterson School. “I’m so grateful to Molli for her generous support of our new building.

“This new facility will help tremendously in recruiting, students, faculty and staff – and will enable the Patterson School and university to reach new heights of excellence.”

Flynt, who earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accountancy from Ole Miss in 1997 and 1998 respectively, is KPMG’s chief of staff to the National Managing Partner for Audit Operations.

“The Patterson School of Accounting helped me get to where I am today in life, so I wanted to give back a piece of that to the newer and future generations of accounting students,” said Flynt, adding that she has witnessed the program’s successes while serving on the Accountancy Alumni Chapter board of directors. She also has served on the Ole Miss Alumni Association board of directors.

Recognized as one of the best accountancy schools in the nation, the PSOA continues to have strong enrollment and sought-after accountancy programs that are expanding. These are some of the factors behind the campaign to construct the academic building that will serve as an impressive gateway to campus when it is built on the corner of University Avenue and Grove Loop.

“Such a top-notch program is certainly worthy of a top-notch home, and this new building will be that, to say the least,” Flynt said. “This new home will mean so much to the PSOA faculty and students, and I can only imagine the impact it will have on students considering accounting and other visitors to the university.”

While the school’s students now attend accountancy classes all over campus, the new building will provide the space needed to bring all classes under one roof.

“I can’t wait to watch the building progress on my morning walks to campus,” said Flynt who worked for KPMG in Atlanta, Georgia; Memphis, Tennessee; and New York, New York before moving in 2020 to Oxford, where she works from home and travels to the company’s offices as needed.
