OXFORD, Miss. – Eli Manning, right, New York Giants quarterback and Super Bowl XLII MVP, autographs a football for Justin Scruggs of Ellisville, left, while Dr. Dan Jones, vice chancellor for health affairs, shows Manning a 2004 photograph of Scruggs from Manning’s first visit to Children’s Hospital. Scruggs was undergoing treatment for cancer at the time and asked Manning to autograph his head. Four years later, Manning was happy he could now sign a football for the two-time cancer survivor. Manning visited patients at the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children and toured the construction site of the Eli Manning Children’s Clinics. He is working with Friends of Children’s Hospital and BankPlus to raise the $2.5 million needed to complete the clinics.
