STATE BUDGET CUTS |
Although the University is a public institution, it receives less than 10 percent of its support from state tax dollars. Recent cuts have reduced this level of funding even further. Since 2001, Ole Miss has seen a state budget cut three out of four years.
These cuts have had a significant impact on nearly all areas of the University, which rely on state funds for the bulk of their support.
Even before these cuts, the University received far less state funding per student than do top public peers. This gap will likely widen as reductions in state support continue. |
